Lia Jones is a Sydney based personal trainer and influencer who is known for training Home and Away’s Ada Nicodemou, an achievement that has seen her featured in countless publications this year. She loves to inspire people to live a balanced and active lifestyle.

Hi Lia, first of all, tell us more about what you specialise in. 

I specialise in corporate & private personal training- with a running & boxing background.

What has been one of your best moments since launching your business?

It would have to be having the opportunity to train Ada Nicodemou following my 30 day challenge. It is great working with her and has opened a lot of doors for me.


And biggest learnings?

To believe in yourself and to be prepared to fail- it’s not easy running your own business. You can take things to heart- but to just keep believing in yourself and be prepared to fail would be my biggest learning.

Now tell us a bit more about you.

Wake up time?


The night time routine you swear by?

I go to sleep quite early 9:30; but it makes getting up at 5 lot easier and especially to wake up with energy to feel motivated for my first client at 6am!

What is one unique thing you do every day that may surprise people?

I do 15 mins of core work every single day since I’ve become a trainer actually- I believe your core is where all your strength comes from and it protects your back when you do any other exercises. I start every session with core and it would be my strongest part of my body.

What is your day on a plate for a normal day?

I fast until 11am – that’s usually when I get a break in between sessions; I’m usually on the road so I’ll have two hard boiled eggs. Then at around my next break at 2pm I have a large tuna salad- I try and make this my biggest meal of the day. If I’m hungry around 4 I’ll have a snack – usually a handful of almonds. Then dinner time I usually have a chicken breast or some kind of lean protein with some fibrous vegetables like broccoli & cauliflower.

Do you have any health philosophies that you live by?

It’s all about having balance, eating healthy and being active is a lifestyle- it’s a long term thing- so making daily long term habits is key and enjoying it. It’s a way of life.  It’s important to always have a goal and to continue making goals along the way to give yourself purpose and drive.

What are your top health spots near home?

I love to train at Rushcutters Bay Park, there’s always a breeze and it’s so beautiful looking out to the harbour with all the yachts and my dog can have a good run around while I train.

What is the best health treatment you have ever had and why?

I like going to my friends gym Peak Altitude training and training In the altitude room- it’s very hard- but you feel as though you’ve really worked

Favourite place to work out?

Always a park! With an amazing outlook- that’s pretty easy to find living in Sydney. We are lucky!

Favourite brunch spot and what do you order?

I like Bondi Nude fish poke bowl– and I love to build my own poke bowl…. Ha! Every time I order something different so I don’t get bored.

Do you have a hack to help you get by when you are stressed?

I could have a million things to do; but hugging my dog Lupe comes first. She needs a daily walk & a play but it’s good because it’s my time out- She always makes me smile no matter how stressed or busy I am.

What’s one thing people probably don’t know about you? 

I was raised in Ibiza Spain- so I speak Spanish.

Do you have any habits that your friends think are weird?

My friends think everything I do is pretty weird… But maybe all of my accents I do and characters- I’m definitely don’t take myself too seriously.

The last book you read?

Awaken the giant within- by Anthony Robbins

How do you unwind?

I like to potter around my house and organise stuff… I find it very relaxing.
