Today we had the pleasure of interviewing Tegan Haining who is a former international model turned PT. Tegan has trained the likes of David Beckham, Lara Stone and Jess Gomes to name a few. She is also a published author.

Read on to hear more about her journey.

Is there a unique reason why you started your business?

I was a model for 17 years (where does the time go?) and it was common in the modelling world to be told you were too fat or too thin or that there was something wrong with your  body. Back then in 2001 models often followed crazy diets like only eating green apples or just certain kinds of nuts. Plus they would run on treadmills for hours trying to shed kilos. I wanted to find a healthy way to get in shape and then hopefully be able to help these girls do the same. My book The 7 Day Quickie is really just the kind of diet I would recommend to girls wanting to look and feel there best before a photo shoot but it works for anyone prepping for an event.

Tell us one of the most uplifting moments of your career?

I loved working at Bodyism in London for the 4 years I was there. I was part of the original team when it was small and we were all such great friends and grew the business together. It is always great working with people who inspire you and our team was always there to support each other.

The hardest thing you have had to go through and how you overcame it?

Switching my career focus from London back to Australia was a big decision. Most people thought I was crazy to be training David Beckham and want to leave and move back to Sydney. But sometimes it’s more important to follow your gut than what everyone else thinks you should do. I wanted to build my future in Australia and I have never regretted my decision.

Biggest achievement so far?

For sure publishing my book The 7 Day Quickie with Penguin Random House in 2017!

Favourite article you have ever been featured in and why?

Not an article but the segment I did on Today Extra for my then online program The 7 Day Quickie in 2016. I was seen on the show by book publishers and one thing led to another from there for me to get my book deal, so that was a pretty important segment to be featured in – Thanks BennettPR for that!

Dream publication to be featured in?

Women’s Health Cover would be nice 😉

If you could tell the public one thing what would you message be?

It’s super important to set realistic goals in life, for whatever you want to achieve. This helps to keep you motivated, reminding you of your purpose and giving you a clear sense of direction when things get tough.
